Things to Think about:
WHO wrote it / is responsible for the content? LATERAL READING: What is their reputation? Do they have the expertise they claim they do?
WHERE does it appear/was it published? LATERAL READING: What is the site's/source's reputation? What is its purpose? What biases does it have?
WHEN is the information from?
WHAT:
Is the source relevant to your topic/question/thesis?
What type of evidence does the source use?
What is the tone/type of bias?
What does the author argue, or want you to do based on the source?
Remember to read laterally and only spend time on WHAT once you have a sense of WHO & WHERE.
