Details to Note

Author names are separated with semi-colons. If a book has editors, list them after the edition information. Book titles are italicized. If a book was written by an organization with no individual author listed, use the name of the organization in place of the author name. If you are citing an eBook, include the DOI. If there is no DOI, include a URL or the name of the database you retrieved it from and an accessed date.

When citing a book chapter, begin with the information about the chapter, followed by the information about the book as a whole. Examples for citing an entire book and citing a chapter within a book are included in each section on this page.
