Resources from TU counseling on adjusting to college life

CSD, housed in the Division of Student Affairs, supports the access and academic success of historically under-represented groups through programs and services that enhance the student experience.

The Counseling Center is available during regular hours to help students with an emergency or crisis, using the resources below. When the Counseling Center is closed, you still have access to emotional help if you need it.

The FoodShare program provides weekly bags of food to address the needs of students, faculty, and staff experiencing food insecurity. Those accessing the pantry must show their OneCard before entering and complete a sign-out form before leaving. Students, faculty and staff may receive up to 10 items per week when TU is in session. Bring your own reusable bag or receive a plastic grocery bag for your items.

If you are in crisis, reach out for help. Towson University Police (410-704-4444) and local police (911) are available to respond to emergencies. To talk to an advocate or learn more about reporting and healing options, contact TurnAround's 24-hour helpline (443-279-0379) and/or TU Counseling Center (410-704-2512).

To foster a safe and inclusive campus, the University will investigate all incidents motivated by bias. In order to prompt an investigation, the incident must be reported. If you have been a victim, or have witnessed or learned of a hate crime or bias incident, you can file a report using the Hate Crimes and Bias Incident Report Form. You may also contact the Towson University Police Department for immediate assistance and response at 410-704-4444 or you can contact OIIE via email BiasResponse@towson.edu or phone 410-704-0203 to report a hate crime or bias incident.
