American Association of School Administrators (AASA)
Mission and Beliefs - Building partnerships and supporting the education of all students is the responsibility of the entire community. Those partnerships and the contributions made by all stakeholder groups in the community contribute to the educational success and well-being of our children. Communities are responsible for the health, safety, welfare and education of each child. Schools are but one partner in the community which includes many domains of public and private agencies. AASA urges and supports collaborative, community-wide programs and partnerships to deliver full services and programs to address the needs of the whole child. AASA supports quality community-wide programs and services designed to break the cycle of poverty and address the readiness and wellness needs of all children.
Candidates identify stakeholders within and outside the school community who
impact the school library program. Candidates develop a plan to advocate for
school library and information programs, resources, and services.
As an elaboration of its general research mission, AERA commits itself: to promote activities (e.g., through the work of the Organization of Institutional Affiliates, in AERA's education and training programs) that foster a diverse community of education researchers
We help educators, families, community members, and policymakers move from a vision about educating the whole child to sustainable, collaborative action. Join us, and together we'll change the face of education policy and practice.
We envision a world where: Educators are trusted and respected professionals in their communities; All educators work collaboratively to educate all learners; All stakeholders (students, families, teachers, community) are empowered, supported and active participants as full partners in education; All educators are prepared to work with all students so that all students can pursue their full potential; All students benefit from inclusive cultures in schools and communities; Public policy enables educators, with all the necessary supports, to focus on their practice
