CSE Style

Learn to cite sources using the Council of Science Editors (CSE) style.

Details to Note

A conference proceedings citation consists of editors, title of proceedings, name and number of conference, date of conference, location of conference, place of publication, and date of publication. A conference paper citation consists of authors and the title of the paper, followed by the citation information for the conference proceedings in which they are found. Note that none of these elements are bolded or italicized, and punctuation matters. Only the first word and any proper nouns are capitalized in the book and paper titles.

A conference paper is a specific paper cited within a set of conference proceedings.

The order of elements in your citation will vary according to the in-text citation style you are using. Examples are listed on this page for both scenarios. For more information about in-text citations, refer the the CSE Style Guide homepage.
