It can be difficult to find scores in the library! Here are some quick tips and tricks. We want you to have the scores you need to do your practicing and research. Please reach out if you have additional questions: cgibson@towson.edu
1. From the Library landing page, navigate to advanced search
2. Filter material type by "score"

3. Type the composer's name in the search bar, and change the field to "Author/ Creator"

4. Type the title of composition in quotation marks in the second search bar, leaving off any numbers

5. Press search
Entering instrument types in the search box does not work well, but you can use the catalog number system to help you browse by genre and ensemble type. For additional information on how score call numbers work, see the appropriate tab on this LibGuide. Note that you can also browse for our holdings by coming to Cook Library and looking through the shelves. Because most of the scores we collect are printed, that may be more efficient than browsing by call number in the the electronic catalog.
1. From the Library landing page, navigate to advanced search
2. Using the menu at the very top of the page, select "Browse Search"

3. Within the browse search view, change the filter to read "browse by LC call numbers"

4. Use the call number guides on other tabs of this Research Guide to select appropriate call number and press enter. For example, if you wanted solo vocal repertoire, you might enter M2102 for Dramatic Music--One Solo Voice or M1494 for Secular Vocal Music.
