Inserting Citations
EndNote's Cite While You Write function allows to you insert in-text citations in a Word document in a format you have chosen. You'll then be able to create a bibliography for your manuscript or paper.
Once you have installed either EndNote X9/EndNote 20 or downloaded the CWYW tool from EndNote Web/Basic/Online, you will see an EndNote tab in your Word ribbon.
- Select the bibliographic style that you wish to use.
- Place your cursor where you want the citation to appear.
- Click "Insert Citation" and search in your library.
- Continue in this manner until you have completed adding citations.
- Click on "Update Citations and Bibliography" to insert the reference list.
- Note that you can change the output style at any time.
